Have been wanting to add a night vision scope to my kit,but honestly the price  on some of the scopes are outragous, I found this NV scope kit in Ebay. Price is super cheap, will make any scope a NV scope,it claims.  Has anyone ever bought/used one of these ? How were they, recomend or not? Thanks for any help.

I was considering the same route.  But I've already wasted too much time, money and energy on cheap products that are "supposed" to offer the same results.  I've learned that if you want something done do it right the first time and you'll be much happier in the end.  That being said I purchased an ATN X-Sight 4K pro with the ABL rangefinder.  I know, I know.....that's like a $1000 kit.  But let me tell you that this thing is so much better than I ever could have imagined.  Squirrel at 40 yds?  range it, aim, and bullseye.  oh, want to hit that 3" gong at 100yds from the exact same position?  range it, aim, and bullseye.  That and it records it in 4k video, has night vision, compass, with the Obsidian app it gets weather information, inclinometer --- (I made that word up, it tells you what angle you're shooting at up/down) and also has a cant gauge that lets you know if you're rifle is tilted, like a level.  It also has the capability of saving multiple profiles for either different rifles or different ammo in the same rifle.  That all being said there's a similar piece on the market that I think is slightly cheaper, the Pard NV it's called and I've been eyeing that because it is tiny compared to the ATN piece (it's HUGE, and HEAVY!)  I took the ATN off my Benjamin Bulldog to put it on my .308 powderburner and when I picked up the Bulldog sans the scope I couldn't believe how light it was.

That being said......for under $100 if those ebay things work, and you try one let us know.

The only other negative I see with a setup like that is that you're not able to shoulder the rifle because you have to be away from it to view the screen, right?  I'm not really into that.

I was shopping Chinese scopes on Ali and came across a bunch of NV stuff.

Think I'm buying a Cleupold brand, maybe a CHacog, something, $800 is stupid.

Maybe I'll drag a couple links back...

OP has an ATN for about $560 shipped when you apply their coupon, they are fun! I have an older version but there are a lot of videos on YouTube showing them in action if you are interested. Mine is grainy but it is still a lot of fun.

Looks like a "busy" solution.

I've been mostly without internet for a couple days, takes 10 mins to load a page at Ali... WTF Xfinity?

The NV I had in mind is equally busy, and 300% more mall ninja, basically a nv monocular attached to a Army type helmet.

But, I loaded the wrong page... ooooohhh look at this though..... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33000601059.html

OK internet working!

I totally agree that the setup pictured is low-speed high-drag (no offense OP) and a non-starter for my uses.

Allow me to play Capt'n Obvious for a minute.

If the crap-o (enhanced) NV is limited to 50-ish yards, why not just get a better scope?

I've shot in 'backwoods' darkness through a 4X.  Matter of fact, I couldn't see to walk, but the scope worked fine.

Lose the 52x-156x scope in favor of low mag and you could work with very low ambient lighting. Specifically Swift 4x40.

Which brings me to my next point. How are you supposed to move about, or follow a target?

Flashlight? Maybe, a weak red one, and close one eye to maintain pupil dilation.

Why not use a generic PEQ clone as emitter, and monocular on a head rig? There are lots of monoculars available around $100.

Next question, why not a red light to avoid spooking game? Weapon lights are cheap, get a C8 wit red emitter and remote switch for $30-ish.

That is the way my NV setup is headed, I can't have all that crap hanging off a gun... I'm (ignorant of NV) and going to investigate the feasibility of 4X scope and NV monocular or goggles.  Feel free to school me.

No links yet, just entered new territory.

My original NV.

Teryx b
Teryx c

Along with some gun light was a lethal night set up. Not very discrete.

Rabbit

Turns out a ranger didn't like the set up calling it "Spot lighting" and it wasn't legal.

So I bought this off ebay. Some drawer has a larger torch for it.

NV b
NV a

They are no feather weight.

NV

Stepping away from the "cheap" NV criteria I just got a thermo set up for night use.

Thermo c

thermo b

Much lighter.

thermo a

My wife across the street at about 30 yards.

Thermo d

With the infra red set up I normally just tried to find the glow of the eyes. Thermo is a whole other game. You just scan looking for any kind of heat source. So if a rabbit is facing away from you the heat of their body gives them away. I was scanning trees. Saw a very vivid glow about 200 yards away. Walked up to it and it was some sort of a LARGE bird. Lot of hawks and eagles by the weekend home. I would have never had a clue it was there with infra red. Was hoping to find a raccoon up high.

I forgot to mention a major issue with weapon mounted NV.

Swinging it around to look at everything!

If you've ever forgot the binos and tried using your scope instead... you know!

Pluric, what light is on top of that 350? IR or white?

Many places limit hunting to dawn/dusk or some # of mins before/after, so yeah lights are out. Coyote hunting is a possible exception, YMMV.

Here is a PEQ

It's an IR. On that Leshiy it was a white.

Here's another variation that I'd be interested in:

A night vision monocular that I can attach to the ocular lens of my scope (or better yet, attach it to the objective lens as not to mess up eye relief).

I really don't need a huge range or crisp clarity.

Has anybody tried this?

@jungleshooter

Have you seen the bracket which allows a magnifier to flip up behind your red dot? They are common on AR15s.

Pretty sure this type of monocular can be placed in the same rig, with QD flip up.

Then you wouldn't have a dedicated anything, all modular.

You mean, a night vision device combined with a red dot?
