Hello,

Does anyone have info on how to get the front rings off the Career III 707 that holds the front piece on? I think they unscrew and the holes in them don't appear to be allen head set screws, (metric allen wrenches just turn in the holes) the holes in them I think are for a spanner. I've tried to use a spanner wrench on them, but got some pretty good torque but it didn't budge and I didn't want to mess anything up with too much muscle. Would a little heat work to loosen them up or is there a stripped set screw to deal with? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, hope to see you in Hickory,

Evan from NC

I use a brass drift punch with a light hammer to impact them off.  Works better if you vise the gun close to the rings with padded jaws.  Make sure no air is in the gun.  Regards, Tom

Yes, a spanner is the right tool, there are no set screws. hth

Careful, those rings are alloy and easily buggered with anything but a good spanner. Don't heat them, your shouldn't need to. Use a good tool instead.
