Prior to this sale I had already been tempted by the Meteor Super when AoA posted pre-owned examples for $300/$250 but resisted because of the mixed reviews. For $200 out the door and brand new though, that's too good to pass up even if only to test out the gas ram platform. I picked up one yesterday!

I've been holding off, myself. Done a lot of searching and came up with (I think) an Argun101 YouTube review where a gal bench tested one and found it favored a tight, not artillery, hold. Another had his seal burn early due to excessive lube working past the piston, so I would suggest cleaning the compression tube in case they are coming overlubed. Let us know what the cocking effort feels like. I've heard kind of light or easy, then more like an HW95.

Received my Meteor Super over the weekend and am plenty pleased with it. Here are my initial impressions: The Minelli stock alone is an amazing piece of furniture, the texturing on the wrist and forend is some the most unique I've ever seen. The high stock comb makes for better scoped shooting, but open sights are doable is you slide your face forward enough. The bluing is strong and consistent on the compression tube and barrel. Pot metal trigger guard and end cap. The plastic trigger and sights are what they are, but I will say that the fiber optics are really clean. The trigger pull is not what I'd call two stage, rather a "first" stage slack followed by a fairly clean "second" wall that's predictable. The break is not exceptionally crisp but certainly not mushy either. Recoil is stout as expected for for a gas ram. My rifle dieseled during a handful of test shots, even after swabbing the barrel before firing so these guns are definitely generously lubed. In the hands, the rifle is incredibly well balanced and the ergonomics are very comfortable. Will need to get some distance shots in but so far, I think this an awesome piece for the price.

@bad_news_beemanĀ

I received mine today and was having trouble seeing the sight in low light condition so tonight I mounted a BSA scope on mine and will sight it in tomorrow.Ā  I have to use both hands to cock and have worked a system that works well.Ā  Charles

I spent about two hours messing with my new BSA and after trying to see the factory sight good enough, which I could not,Ā  so I mounted a BSA scope and after sighting it in I sent many of pellets down range and not being broke in it was still fun to shot.Ā  I did have trouble cocking it with the front sight in place and after removing the factory sights I was even able to cock it single handed.Ā  Ā That's a real plus for me.Ā  So all and all I'm beginning to like the rifle.Ā  Charles

Traditionally the UK made BSA say made in Birmingham on them. If not it's made in Spain. Not necessarily a bad thing.

I ordered the BSA a week ago, for $199 I figured even with a GAMO trigger it is worth it for the gas ram and nice wood.Ā  Would prefer .177, but that's OK, I don't have ANY break barrels right now, so I am looking forward to anything at this point. (All CO2 and one SSP IZH-46m)

Ā

Got tracking a few days ago, should be here tomorrow.

Just got it a hour ago, cleaned the barrel and gave it a once over.Ā  Barrel was as filthy as a powder burner after 500rds of Russian ammo!Ā  One screw was a little loose, nothing major.

Very nice wood, with open sites, point of aim accurate at 10m.Ā  Loud, like very loud.Ā  I've got a moderator coming.

Scope is mounted (UTG BB 3-12x42) and is ready for tomorrow morning.

Also got my pellet trap assembled (PA silent trap) and tested.Ā  Silent as I expected.

Trigger is nice, lockup is tight, can't wait to plink!
