There are many versions.

This is the best. 1959 Mk1. All wood and blued steel. Rare gun in the US. Built to compete with the Diana 27. First airgun ever available with scope dovetails. And BSA offered an extremely cheap and crappy plastic scope. Shamefully, because it doesn't match up at all with the solid build of the Mk1. A much better BSA scope was soon available.

@kwk The 1 I was considering just so happened to be the Ithaca branded. Was nice, but the paint turned me off.Thanks for your input.

Yes, that's about as cheap as the Meteors got. Was a popular gun, especially in UK. People strip the paint and blue them. There is still a following for old Meteors because it was a youth gun. And it's British and not made by Fritz.
