Maybe this excerpt from Airgun Chronicles will provide some insight(s)-
.22 Brocock Bantam Hi-Lite bolt-action pre-charged pneumatic repeater
16gr Air Arms Field, 10 shots, 54 shots/250 BAR- Lo= 888, Hi= 895, ES= 7, SD= 2.5, Avg= 891 FPS/28.2 FP
18.1gr JSB, 10 shots- LO= 845, Hi= 854, ES= 9, SD= 2, Avg= 848FPS/28.9 FP
18.1gr JSB, 230 BAR* charge, 60 shot powerband= 835 862 27 4 852/29.0
10/4/2018- Six consecutive 5 shot groups at 50 yards with 16gr. AA averaged .50” c-t-c.
*An optimum charge pressure of 235 BAR on the gun gauge returns 65 consistent shots!
.177 Brocock Contour S6 bolt-action pre-charged pneumatic repeater
8.4gr Air Arms Field, 3000 PSI, 5 shot powerband- Lo= 907, Hi= 929, ES= 22, SD= 5, Avg= 918 FPS/15.7 FP
8.4gr AA, lighter spring, 2900 PSI, 26 shot p-band- Lo= 867, Hi= 888, ES= 21, SD= 4, Avg= 880 FPS/14.5 Fp
A pretty nifty, little lightweight carbine that averaged about 1” groups at 50 yards.
I have a pair of 177 Grand Prix Elites with smaller/shorter air cylinders (pistols) with the factory manometers at the ends and get around 30-32 shots with one shooting 630-650fps with 8.44gr JSBs and the other 18-20 shots shooting 10.34gr at around 700-720fps.
My best guess with the Contour in 22 with longer air cylinder and barrel, assuming you adjusted the power to a higher than factory set level you are getting about 780-800fps shooting 15.9gr JSBs for around 18-20 shots or 30-35 shots shooting at 650-675fps with the same pellet.
Pistoleros looks like the older Falcon FN12 with a different magazine.
The Bantam Hi Lite (there is absolutely no comparison shot count wise).
If yours has a manometer at the end of the air cylinder you have the larger diameter air cylinder and should get quite a bit more shots than I guessed. If yours does not have the manometer then you have the smaller air cylinder which I guesstimated.
They typically like to be filled starting between 2600-2700psi (sweet spot) but roughly 20-25% less shots than quoted as compared to filling to 3000psi with a power curve.
I am not sure if the Contour has the Daystate sling shot hammer system in it (to save air) like the Compatto and Bantams have.
HA
Thanks for the info guys. I'm trying to sort this thing out. It's leaking down over a few days and when charged to about 3K it still is shooting only about 640 fps with 13-14 grain pellets. I felt it should be doing much better. It has a very small air tube and no pressure gauge.
