I’m almost ready to buy one..but I’m spending my money on an LG110 because I think they may stop making them. I may change my mind by tomarrow morning. I’ll have a .25 HP Commander by next month. Review to follow.
Seems like the perfect truck gun. Where I live you don’t carry firearms in your car. But that Commander .25 was made for the job. Thank God I didn’t buy the regular Commander last year before the HP came out...I would have been pissed.
All I know is that the one that won Extreme benchrest was NOT a stock version.
This goes back to my question about the values of Brocock based on a $699 platform.
If you shoot single loaded then you should be fine or use the magazine for only close distance shooting.
I have added a couple more Brococks to my collection and took the plunge on a 177 Sniper HR because I was curious to try one but it is not any more accurate than my unregulated $899 177 Bantam Hi Lite. You can get the 25 version on sale now for only $699 without the carbon fibre Hi Lite bottle (comes with 400cc aluminum bottle) but you don't get the fantastic Daystate sling shot system and IMHO that platform is not powerful enough for 25 caliber.
The stock on my new $1399 Sniper HR IMHO is a real disappointment because my Bantam Hi Lite has real wood while the Sniper HR looks like plastic with the parting lines and seams like the guns you buy from Walmart and feels heavier too. The only advantage is that it gets around 20-25% more shots due to the Huma regulator. If I could do it over again, I wouldn't have bought it because my unregulated 177 Bantam Hi Lite shoots just as accurate without a regulator to worry about.
The stock is my main gripe. If the Commander's stock is put together like my Sniper HR then I am pretty sure you will be pretty bummed paying that kind of money for it.
Their triggers (on ALL these Brococks) do not have match grade triggers nor can they be worked on to make them feel like match triggers and if you are a trigger snob you will hate the trigger.
You could set them light but they are sporter triggers good for hunting.
They are great guns BTW and only buy it if you have the cash to blow but don't expect them to be perfect. I knew what to expect after my first Brocock but this last Sniper HR (REALLY) thew me off.

Having done a LOT of due diligence before buying my .22 Bantam Hi-Lite (unregulated), Hotair is spot on with that comment. I also agree with the rest of the comments in his post. Excellent feedback, H.A.
My Compatto is acceptable under thirty yards. So I'm a little spoiled by tighter grouping guns in a similar price range. I do like the physical size and it has more hammer spring noise than report. It does have a Hugget moderator. Not a very high shot count out of the, I think 165cc air tube. I do really like their magazine system. It's just become a hard game to stay on top off with all the new exceptional releases. What once amazed has become a bit mediocre.

Someting must be up with yours because I own two Compattos in 22 caliber (one converted to a Hi Lite bottle gun as pictured above) and the other has the "target" tube regulator set up and both consistently hit sub half inch groups at 50 yards when shot single loaded. It is usually not repeatable when using the magazines so I single load when shooting for groups. A HUMA regulator in that tiny Compatto air cylinder definitely helps too especially since its in 22 (but won't make much difference if you convert it to a Carbon Fibre bottle Hi Lite).
When I bought my first 177 Bantam Hi Lite (which was the first Brocock I owned), I only shot it using the magazines (x2) and noticed inconsistent accuracy even when it chronied as though it was a regulated gun during the 70-80 shot sweet spot, so (unfortunately) $375 later, I installed a custom 177 machined bench rest barrel and it shot the same as the stock LW barrel and only then did I realize that the magazines were causing the inconsistencies. Single loaded then voila! one small ragged hole groups all day long without any fliers. I wasted $375 on the bench rest grade match barrel and the factory barrel is back on the gun now since I couldn't see any difference in accuracy between them. Having that extra barrel laying around, I bought a second 177 Bantam Hi Lite with a black stock and that did not need a replacement barrel either. Stupid justification for an excuse to buy another (in the same caliber) with a different stock.
I have no regrets owning most (minus ONE) of my Brococks, especially the Bantam Hi Lites and my converted Compatto Hi Lite bottle gun because the balance and feel are second to none when shouldering and shooting off hand. They are probably the best (most comfortable) guns from the shooter's perspective. My new Sniper HR is not as nicely balanced IMHO when shouldering compared to my Bantam Hi Lites and BOTH of my Compattos.
You should try and single load them for groups and I think you will be surprised.
It would also be worth installing a HUMA regulator since that air tube is on the smallish side
and should be an easy peasy 5 minute job and the manometer will read overall cylinder pressure (a plus IMHO) and I am thinking of swapping my Compatto 22 with the regulated air tube with one of my 177 Bantam Hi Lites which makes more sense for both of my 22s to have the Hi Lite CF bottles.

Yeah, Bill is waiting for a HP in .177 from AOA. Was told 10 days ago that the Black ones were scheduled to arrive in two weeks. That should be around the first of April. The seracoat models would be in about the middle of April. Would prefer one of them but don't want to wait that long. Besides $260 for the paint job seems on the high side. In 1965 I had a 55 chevy painted for $225 …… I miss those days even if I was only making $1.41 a hour. ?
HA, appreciate your info on the trigger of your Sniper HR. Hopefully a $2000 + rifle will be much better built than your experience. I quote from the retailer writeup on this upgrade.

I believe the Brocock triggers are all the same. Not to try to sway you from your purchase but I just got a new 177 Vulcan2 tactic (semi bullpup) and the trigger on that one hands down is far better but I have gotten used to the Brocock hunter sporter style triggers which average about just over a pound and the lightest tuned trigger I have is around 10-12 ounces. If you try to set it lighter than 10-12 ounces then you may run into a dangerous situation of the gun firing without warning or trigger not resetting. Overall IMHO SAFE RELIABLE trigger weight is around ONE POUND.
I had it down to 8 ounces but it wasn't safe nor reliable so I set it back up and that one had been tuned with all parts totally polished to perfection. I would say for the average user ONE POUND is reliable for these types of guns.
Out of the box they are around 2 pounds or slightly heavier than that and you need to break it in several hundred rounds before getting it lighter because if you try to make it too light out of the box when new you may run into problems mentioned. I know this for a fact because I have five of them.
I wonder if the neat looking Commander side folding collapsible AR stock is available to purchase separately?
