I've finally purchased a Red Ryder & Model 25 after wanting them for awhile. The Wood stocks both arrived with small imperfections, little gouges in the wood/small dings. I know these are really inexpensive and am not expecting 100% cosmetic perfection. Just curious if this happened to anyone else. BTW, They both shoot great.
@stevenpomp I will say it here. I have just purchased a few Daisys myself. 499b and a totally modded 111 with custom walnut stock for myself and a current RR for my grandson. The low cost of the current Daisys will not garner much sympathy for minor imperfections. I am a hobby woodworker and have carved air gun stocks using high grade walnut where the blanks cost more than expensive PCP rifles. That said, nobody wants nicks and gouges in a brand new stock, no matter the level.
How bad are they? If they are slight dents, those can be steamed out with a damp cloth and a hot iron. You could sand the area and re stain. Or simply send them back as warranty replacements. If they are shooting good, I would consider keeping as is.
Enjoy. Having shot expensive springers, fully customized, for years it is surprising how fun the little Daisys are to shoot.
