A right proper John Bowket blueprinted sub 12 FPE Daystate
he was known for his regs and BSA tunes but would sometimes do a Daystate

Classic beauty...  very nice!~

I drooled over a Bowket blueprinted BSA for a long time and gave up hope on acquiring one long ago.

They are certainly out there to be had. Some go at a decent price. Saw a nice one recently with the probe fill mod, leather wrapped bottle, carbine cut barrel and “baby bottle” Gary Cane stock with a full rework on the gun. Was like $2k US. A lot for the age of the rifle and the tech but an excellent shooter and beautiful.

That looks like a Daystate Harrier SE.

It is, sent off to John. It’s not like he built any of the guns really, he just tuned them. He built regs and did his “blueprinting” service.

The way it works... buy the gun, have it shipped to him, he does his magic, you get the gun back. Tuners they tune guns

Same with the best of them, they all improved someone else’s something. Save for guys like LD with his FT gun or Aiden if you paid him enough. Aiden would build you some crazy stuff.

Bowkett did occasionally do scratch built customs as well.

That’s the rarest of the rare!!! Damn you are one sexy devil!!! I gotta say that’s way more subtle than Adrian’s guns. They all seem sort of “steam punk”. And “at least” in that one the load and cock bits are more subtle and that stock makes men and women get tingly all over!

Is that a .30 cal with that knock open valve?

@ranger2bn

I will quote for accuracy:

A one-off handmade special returns home for a service. Last service was nine years ago. This was the second handmade special made for a customer. The first was around 1990 and is a .22" FAC rated action in a French walnut thumbhole stock. That's still going strong. This one followed up in 1993 and is again FAC but this time in .25" pushing out a respectable 55 ft/lbs with extreme accuracy. It has my sporter style of stock made from a blank of musical instrument grade fiddleback maple finished off with one of my finger spur trigger guards. These are comfortable to use and in my experience offer better trigger control.
The same shooter has another handmade one off in the pipeline from me. FAC again but this time in .45" calibre. Interesting times!
