Did the Beeman RX-2 ever come with an open sighted barrel marked Theoben. I just got one at a gunshow in Iowa. It also has the laminated stock. I thought they all had no provision for open sights and had a moderator attached. Did I buy an amalgamation of two rifles?

Yes, the Rx-2 was available with open sights.
Others will probably know more than I do, but the last Beeman catalog (#23, copyright 2003) included the RX-2 with a laminate stock and open sights. Not sure exactly when Beeman moved towards only offering muzzle-braked rifles - I think it was later in the 2000's.
