Suitable for field target? Experiences? Concerns?

Muzzle energy with 10.3 pellets?

I'm asking because I saw a review that said the rifle is too powerful for FT.

TIA

Bob

The HW100 is a fantastic rifle.  I used mine for HFT all last year. Accuracy is fantastic. Trigger is better than my FX Crown.   Built like a tank so a little on the heavy side.  But that only impacts kneeling and standing shots.  The full length rifle is a little over 20 Ft lb out of the box but mine was very easy to tune down just under with hammer spring only.  My understanding is that the K or karbine version has lower power due to shorter barrel. Not sure how easy it would be to bring it up to 20 ft lb.   You didn’t mention which class you intend to shoot so I was assuming HFT.  If a 12 ft lb class then you’d need the lower powered version which would be harder to obtain in the US or do a lot of tuning. I tested with JSB 10.34 and JSB 13.43 and ended up going with 13.43. While the 13.43 were about 100 Fps slower the energy was the about the same with both.

HFT is my intended use. I found a FAC-version tuning video and it looks like it's something I can do.

I decided on the T version. It's supposed to get here Tuesday.

Thanks

I have the Thumbhole stock too. The upright hand position feels much more comfortable to me. Also make sure you look into getting the HW100 single shot adapter for shooting FT. In my opinion one of the best engineered solutions for single shot loading of ANY Airgun. The adapter locks into the magazine slot and a place to put a pellet pops out of the side when you pull the bolt back.  Much easier than trying squeeze fingers into the narrow opening.

I have the single shot tray. I wondered how it worked and glad to learn how convenient it is to use.

I sent you a message.

Thanks
