Ever consider a muzzle mounted chronograph to complete the package? I know that for a properly designed system, you shouldn’t need it, but you know the gummint.😎

Thanks, my friends!

The testing protocol is somewhat specific. And, at the same time, the tolerances are relatively generous.

For example, the sD of the MV is 25 fps, out of 590. None of us would be happy with that, but that is what the spec calls for. In reality, between the L-W barrel, the FFH, the Controlled Transfer Port, and the Altaros regulatos, even using BB's (that need to be held by a magnet, therefore there is no "final obturation", the sD for the 30 shot strings was 9 fps or less. So, more than acceptable.

So, the guns get filled and then tested over the chrono, if needed, MV is adjusted, then they take three shots at each block (sometimes they need to put a whole 8'x 8' wall of blocks that would be 16 blocks), and EACH has to be validated with 3 BB hits in one corner). The depth of the penetration of the BB is what makes that block valid or not. The three penetrations are logged and registered to the number of each block.

I know the Army measures EACH MV, and logs that too, but I think I understood that the BRF does not measure EACH MV. I also understand that the Army tests are more "point-oriented" rather than area oriented.
The idea of putting a barrel mounted Chrono is definitely an EXCELLENT idea for future projects (since the ideal chrono for this application already exists), or if they come back and ask for more "improvements" THANKS!

So, each block is validated and then put into the wall, then the test happens.

A LOT of work, but then that is why the BRF is trusted by LE agencies around the world.

Stephan.- better wear shin guards this Sunday..... LOL!

Thanks again, keep well and shoot straight!
