Anyone else starting to notice Sig Sauer?

Hang on. Hold the pitchforks and torches for a moment. I can explain.

Where airguns were concerned I always thought of Sig as being mostly for the firearms replica, tacticool crowd. That is still true to a degree but two things happened recently that made me take notice.

I've been thinking about getting a spring-piston rifle for a long time. It just seems that a guy should have one, right? I had a BSA a while ago and missed it. Since I have a Beeman P1, the R-9 seemed the logical choice. What's not to love about it. That hasn't changed. But then Sig made the ASP-20. Designed, engineered and built right in the USA, 23 ft/lbs. in 22 cal, welded picatinny rail, accurate. To top it off, reports from people that own them are saying not only are they very accurate but they don't mind being rested. In fact some say they shoot their best groups rested.

Last year I bought the Sig P365 in 9mm for concealed carry. Now Sig is making a CO2/BB version of the P365. It's supposed to be out mid-year. I'm just saying "I'm watching" not that this is some sort of sea change.

Anyone else noticing this?

Yep, they are becoming a presence in the airgun world.  They have nothing I am interested in yet but you never know what will be the next big thing.  The rifle you show is , I believe, a gas ram, and is too powerful for  any of my serious airgun  activities which include 10 meter bullseye, NRA silhouette, and field target.  I am not at all interested in the replicas or high powered stuff but SIG should be making those that are happy.

I will say that at the big outdoor show in Harrisburg, PA a few weeks back, SIG was the ONLY manufacturer or retailer that bothered to have any presence there at all.  That does carry some weight with me.

Rick you hit the nail on the head.  They are very much all about either the replica/trainer type airguns or "hunting" energy levels with the rifle I posted. Yes, it is a gas ram. I'll be honest, SIG was completely off my radar until last fall when I first held and purchased the P365. Now I'm watching them.

They are also making a single-stroke pneumatic pistol. I know that doesn't make it a 10-meter gun but it's interesting none the less.

I definitely still covet the HW95/R9 but I'll be watching that SIG rifle. I'm waiting to get a look at both stock options as well as promised scope packages before I make any decisions. But I will be jumping on that P365 (to pair with it's 9mm twin) as soon as it's available.

Sort of like when Han Solo said "I've got a bad feeling about this." I think this company is going to cost me some money. Oh well, gotta do what makes you smile.

I think what SIG is doing is fantastic!

What they are are doing (airgun related) doesn’t really interest me personally but I like their style so far.  Seems like they care and are making good stuff.  Time will tell how long they can keep up the pace and if their air powered line will hold up.  Me likey!

That SSP pistol mentioned is very nice looking but a little underpowered at 350 fps and looks as if there is no way to mount a scope, red dot, or maybe better iron sights.  not sure but kind of rules out use for air pistol silhouette.  Bummer.

I would like to see an American made gun comparable to an HW 30.  Easy cocking and very accurate might bring this old man back to a springer.  Walnut stock and heirloom quality would be a big plus.  I was hoping Crosman would make one but that never happened yet.

I'd like to hunt with that ASP-20. And that new MCX/PCP looks cool. I just hope they did something with that trigger. The old version cycled the next round, and I wasn't crazy about that.

Their magazine technology is fascinating, mini belt-fed systems on some of them. Not sure they are all ready for prime time but interesting at least.

Yes, their ammo prices are a bit (I'm straining for adjectives here) unrealistic? astronomical? bonkers? a bit much?
