I fear this is beyond my crude gunsmithing skills but would consider having it done if anyone knew of someone who has installed a fiber optic front sight on something similar to my all-metal 1911 service pistol by Umarex. Stocks sights are GI black and they just disappear in most light. I think the pistol is fairly accurate in warm weather, I just can't exploit it because I can't see the sights!

I would try and put a dab of orange glow paint on the front sight.  Might save you some money.

i agree with Bob, paint would be your best bet

oh sure you could get someone to mount a new rear and front sight, maybe and at what cost

or just try some paint and i think my choice would be white for the color

now i know nothing about this product but found it while looking

so even with crude gunsmithing skills, a little tape and a artist paint brush could solve your problem

might buy some of that paint myself

more colors also

MAYBE NOT MADE FOR SKIN AND COMES OFF WITH WATER BUT IF YOU TOOK CARE OF THAT AREA IT MIGHT LAST FOR AWHILE

I also agree with trying paint first.  Try nail polish.  It's easy to apply, easy to remove, and comes in a bottle with a little brush.  Also comes in many dayglo colors.  The nice thing about nailpolish is if you slop over a little bit, you can easily trim it back after it dries with an Exacto blade.

Here's a tip: If applying a dayglo color on a black sight, first "prime" with white nail polish, let dry, then apply the dayglo color.  I've done a bunch of front sights like this.  My current favorite is dayglo yellow-green.  A trip down the Walmart nailpolish isle (I know, scary. But worth it!) and around $5 will give you enough to do MANY MANY front sights.
