sure i have many giss system pistols

so my advice is don't over pay

many sellers are asking high prices but the pistol would have to be near perfect and have a fresh rebuild

if you can't do the work yourself, the service would be 150.00 plus shipping 2 ways or there abouts

does it have the best trigger, well no not compared to a model 10, it is limited and can not be improved, oh i have tried

adjust it the much and the pistol will not fire and the trigger can be adjusted with the grip off and you placing the, lets call sear hook on the trigger

there are 3 screws on the trigger adjustment

the front one is a locking screw and that is all

the back screw has 2 parts inner and outer, the outer adjusts the trigger and sear hook disengagement

and the center one has all to do with feel, first stage, second stage

it has a grub screw inside the outer screw and that grub screw sit atop a compression spring and a bearing ball

the more presser on the screw makes it firmer as the ball will not retract as easy

if you have it set too much the ball will not retract at all and the sear is tripped

sights are fine with a rotating front post and the rear sight has 4 different cuts in a rotating piece

the rear sights have to be looked at before buying

many are crack at the front screw and also the plastic can be fractured and those front sight parts are hard to impossible to find and pricey

if the target grip with the shelf, that is a bonus and i have always thought they added 80 bucks to the value but they have to be like new

if the plastic grips are there and they show any little areas of scuffing they are more then likely rotten

the plastic gets in a state that you can just scrap the plastic off with your finger nail and they are hard to find but Vernon Austin makes some for the pistol

well that enough my 2 fingers are getting tired typing

message me or ask any questions here

oh they show up on Ebay and Gun Broker often and they will be cheaper on Gun Broker

I have one and it has a very nice trigger.  Crisp, predictable, a previous owner had it tuned.  I cannot recall who did the tune.

cock, point, click and a hole magically appears in the center ring.  No recoil at all.

i also have a giss Diana mod 60 rifle.  Best trigger I've ever shot!

i see the tune remark all the time but there is little to nothing that could be tuned on the model 6 pistol

you take them apart and clean and put in new parts and reassemble

on you could use this lube or that, not top hat to be made, no spring other then factory or factory style

the time thing is blown out of proportion because it can only go back together one way and seeing that most people don't have all of the step spacer that could be needed you get as close to the .3mm spacing as you can

if i told you i tuned the 7 model 6's i own and have rebuilt i would be lying because there is no such thing or maybe putting in some sort of magic grease is a tune i don't know

does rebuilding = tune

but that is a nice pistol, aluminum frame, barrel weight and the factory target grips

Never had one apart.  Sounds like you know them well.  Maybe the seller meant rebuilt instead of tuned.

It shoots nice and the trigger is better than our clubs giss pistols,  I recall those are giss 6's or 5's as well but didn't have the rotating barrel.  The trigger on those is not so good, down right crappy.

"fresh rebuild" the best advice offered in this thread. I have forget the number of the Diana, Winchester, Hy Score and a couple of other rebranded Diana's that had completely deteriorated blue seals in them. Out of about 28 guns over 10 years, I think only two worked when they got to me.
