Do i need a new top hat or can i replace the seal that connects to the spring or is it something else causing this since the seal looks fine?

Hit it with a touch of sandpaper to resurface, just a little...put a touch of silicon on it and reassemble... fire off a few shots to make it seal and see where you're at.

Likely will fix you right up without getting a new seal.  If you still leak, just get another seal.  No need to replace the tophat.

Thank you so much.  If i need it Where do i get a seal. Thought it was pressed onto the top hat. One can purchase parts to the top hat?  If so where can i get one?

Can get one through AirForce easily enough and yes, it's pressed into the tophat, but just a press fit.

I'm thinking just a rough up with a little sandpaper and a touch of silicon grease and put it all back together and fire out a couple duds to seal it and you'll be back in business. Be sure to fire out a few shots to properly seat everything before checking again for a leak.  Just a touch of soapy water on the tophat will tell you quickly.

if you do the 'sanding', chuck it up in a lathe/drill and go lightly.

Good point.  I wasnt as clear as I initially thought with the instruction to do very lightly.

Depending on how much time you have to tinker on it, here would be my steps.

simply reseat first and add a touch of silicone grease and test again... a couple shots to reseat everything and test with soapy water.  I initially only fill to 1500psi to test.  If it passes that, I move up a bit and retest, then continue to 3kpsi.  This way, I'm not wasting as much air.   While it's apart, inspect the brass part to ensure no gouges or anything that may be causing the leak there.  If you find one, can chuck that up and very lightly smooth it out.

If that doesnt work then I would chuck up in a lathe or drill and very lightly resurface and try again.  Repeat testing.

last go would be a new seal.
