Ordered one of these.  Semi Auto drive system is a derivative of the rod  and piston system used in the FX Monsoon.  Wasted air muzzle blast inside shroud drives the piston. The SAM style consumes some of the pellet driving energy before driving the pellet to run the system.  My Monsoon never failed but had downside you had to remove shroud and clean out lead particles.  The SAM system since its pre pellet driving energy will never need cleaning.

Who has one of these? My questions?

Power level its only a 14 inch barrel ?

Trigger pull weight?

Distance of trigger travel to break?

The HP line tech data was lacking on power the .25 would produce so I went with a flatter shooting .22.  With .25 the system in bolt action 24 inch barrel I have seen posts with high 70 in FPE

I can only comment with the bolt action HP Sparrow, but as far as the HP frame set trigger goes it's the same.

The trigger has approximately 5mm of travel before you reach the pull/break point (which may be more appropriate to describe as the "stop point" as it's a fairly hard stop and goodly pull to fire afterwards even with polishing the trigger set). If I were to guess I'd put mine around 3lbs or so at this point (don't have a tool to measure), it was considerably higher before following one of Bin's youtube videos on the trigger polish job.

The sparrow with the 8" barrel can chuck out CPHP 14.3gr at an average of 811 fps (20.89 ftlbs muzzle energy) across 24 shots (high 895, low 707). These values were based on a full starting fill, which you won't be using as the semiauto operating pressures are less than a max fill and can't run down as far as the bolt action. You may have opted for the larger reservoir depending on your build, so that with the longer barrel could certainly have a big impact on your power/speed levels.

@leo5111

It will be here Monday if delivered on time. FEDEX changed delivery to Wed today 19 Dec 🙁

They claim a 14" barrel from factory on the .25 semi auto version will do 48 FPE.  I am hoping for min 30 FPE in .22.  It seems to be the same breech and valve parts across the line

Thanks

I have a stash of 15.9 JSB ...at that power I might need to buy up some 18.1 JSB ...wonder what the .25 Semi will do FPE wise with a 14 inch barrel realworld?

I like the HP .25 semi-auto pistol, but am concerned with the lack of a responsible product guarantee in the U.S.  Who repairs these guns when they eventually have problems???  Their website makes it very clear that they are not responsible for any warranty on the product.  Do we send them to Asia for repairs?
