This is a well known trait of the AA side lever guns. If you let your finger slip off the cocking lever while cocking the gun it will slam forward and break the sear as you show in the pic. They have always been this way. The sear is a very hard, brittle metal and cannot tolerate any impact.
Pyramid Air will have the upper sear in stock and it is fairly simple to install (cost you about $25). You may have to adjust the trigger after the replacement. When cocking the gun just be careful to control the lever as it returns forward.
