Now I want one !
Nice video. I'm a bit torn by the new HW35s. On one hand they're a nice looking rifle and I kind of like the checkering on the forearm. But on the other hand, to me, part of what makes the 35 such a classic is the finger grooves on the forearm. But I'm slowly growing used to no fingers grooves since the Luxus stock I recently put on my 35K doesn't have them.
EDIT: BTW, you mentioned that it was tuned. What kit do you have in it? Mine has an ARH/Maccari Ultra Pro Mk2 in it. Nice smooth shot cycle at 10.6ft-lbs with the 8.44 AA Field.
Go for it, Ken. I think you'd enjoy the classic design of the 35 with it's barrel latch. I know I do. And with the HWs you already have it would make a fine addition to the family. ? (Yeah, slipped into enabler mode there, lol.)
Thanks guys. Jim, it's a Vortek 12ft lb, PG4 l kit. It's spittin' 'em out at almost exactly 13ft lbs.
I know exactly what you're talking about with the grooves in the forend. The standard 35 still sports them. The checkering does kind of grow on you after a while. I'm at the point where there's no remorse whatsoever with not having the grooves. I'm just enamored with the gun.
Whoa, sounds like yours is really spittin' the lead out! Did you use a Vortek seal with the kit? I'm still using the factory seal in mine but I do have one of Vortek's older moly seals in reserve, along with one of JM's Vulcan SS seals.
No doubt there are still dealers out there who have HW35s with the finger grooves. But according to Weihrauch's website the current HW35 Standard no longer has them. It's now checkered on the grip and forearm.
