i was wondering what most are doing for a hammer when changing out 2240 trigger frames with 1720T units
i have 3 choices
fill bottom of the 2240 with epoxy puddy
get the 1740T hammer that has a threaded hole in the front that you have to fill with something and afraid if you use the Crosman bolt the hammer throw is shorten too much
or buy a nonadjustable one from Cothran
i'm leaning to the Cothran choice but could do any of them
thanks

FABRICATE ....
You can use the 1720, 1701p, or P'rod striker. However if your gun has the rear 4/48 breech screw location you will need to Dremel a clearance notch in the front top of the striker. Also instead of the OEM front piece for that striker I would use a 1/4-28 flat face allen set screw. And use the 2240 cocking pin.
Hi Mike, been a long time. Hope all is well.
I agree 100% with Mr fivestar45. Order Crosman part # CH2009-110. You get the hammer, striker, and acetal pin thread-locker...

You'll need to reuse or source a cocking pin.
I like to part-off the striker flange so it can be recessed. That gives more hammer travel and more tuning options:

Or you can get a 1/4-28 set screw with smooth face as MR R mentioned... needs to be about 7/8" long.

@wyo Old post but good info. I installed this hammer with the set screw in it and now im getting a barrel leak. Gun has been perfect before this and its just the hammer, when cocked. I was also considering drilling out the back cap so i can adjust the set screw in the hammer like a Prod. Think it just needs to be turned out a bunch more? Not sure how to tune this one. Its regulated. Thanks
I received a small white piece with my prod hammer and not sure what its for.
