Had to take care of a few honey-dooz, so I didn't get into the WMA till 4:30.
A few pics of the surroundings
I heard one barking within range less than 15 minutes after plopping down against a cedar tree. I finally spotted it, but there was no way to stalk any closer, the woods are just too dry. It finally quit barking but I sat tight. After 10 or so minutes I spotted it coming down the trunk of the tree - So I let 'er ripp - pfft - WOP - One shot, one kill.
This little carbine has yet to let me down. Comes to the shoulder quick and on point as well.
Nice shooting Steve, woods are so dry here its impossible to sneak really close to them. Even if you do they usually know your there curiosity usually gets them killed. This time of year I like to just sit for awhile and let them move to me, no action move to another spot and sit for a bit.
@dbowling Yeah, I hear you brother, that's gonna be my approach untill we get some rain at least. It will happen in due time I suppose. Take care and say hi to everyone on AGN for me as I have been banned.
