a friend of mine has the above rifle.  He was shooting it and while cocking it again something broke and it locked up in the open cocked position.  I think a pin broke in the cocking lever and the ratcheting mechanism is locked up.  Anyone know where to get parts for these or what could possibly have made it lock up.  Any help or info on this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance. Email is dwatts4969@gmail.com   I will attach pictures of it.

You will need a spring compressor , open it up so you can see whats going on.It should be easy to see because there should not be many parts.

the bear trap seems to be engaged in the first picture, maybe with an extra set of hands you could take the pressure off the trap, disengage the trap and uncock the gun for starters but be careful you have it 1/2 to 2/3  cocked

what the problem is another store

I'm looking at mine now, Well, actually two, a Bam and a Peak . Something could be broke or hung up. The way it works is if you start forward with the cocking lever then decide to open it back you have to pull against a spring at the back end. When it stops at the back you pull a little harder against a  spring before going back forward all the way.

The piston center rod is hooked by the top of the trigger, the lever pulls it back, the trigger safety is just a trigger safety. Everything underneath the receiver is anti-bear trap. I've never took that apart when putting in new springs and seals. Theres a little spring in the front of that anti- bear trap assembly.

Without hope, without fear

It's the ratchet. I've had several of these (bought my first crate to tune and resell back in the 80's) The whole mechanism is sloppy, and at some point the ratchet jams in about half of them.  I take the ratchet out, leaving the trigger block bar in place, it's reliable. Still, Idon't put my finger in the loading port unless my elbow is between the lever and the tube.
