I’ve been shooting a few today, enjoying every one for what it is…here’s a picture of a few
top one is a 30 caliber tap loader, outside lock made in 2012
next is a mid 1930’s BSA light pattern in 177
next is an 8MM Gifford Co2 Rifle from maybe late 1800’s?
bottom is 2018 vintage Impact X

It’s good...reasonably accurate with 310 balls, and velocity is a bit over 600 FPS

I like that grip on your impact, kinda sets it off.  Mind telling me the details on it? any modification needed or does it fit fine and whats it actually made for?

What is the state of the barrel like in your Gifford?

PCP air guns have an fascinating history. This is one of three PCP air cannon that used to defend San Francisco Bay back in the 1890's. These babies could shoot a 500 lb round over a mile out to sea. They were scrapped when they were decommissioned, unfortunately.

I love the Giffard.  To bad they are so expensive and rare.

Guess I backspaced that part eh.....

I also like the Gifford, it has a svelte sort of something that reminds me more of a walking stick..... as opposed to  a long canoe portage!
