Gorgeous stock!

Have a Higgins 180 that is astonishingly accurate, but no where near as nice as urs. Crosman put good barrels on these.

David, I  think I can say we have similar tastes.  This little gun is just so damn much fun.  And so pretty to boot.

I was always looking for a 180, but a few years ago I made the decision to go all .177, (which I don't regret) so a Crosman 187 became my new holy grail.  Found it.  Love it.  Many thanks to Don R., aka oldair.  Our best friend in vintage stuff.

Wow, nicest piece of elm wood I’ve ever seen! What a beauty.

A 187 with the late trigger is a great find. Gimme a call when you get tired of that one, LOL...!

Awesome score, Jim; congrats! Those old Crosmans are (often) surprisingly accurate.

My 187 averages .67" c-t-c five-shot groups at 50 yards, some groups going into less than 3/8" c-t-c.

Turns out this thing is one hell of a shooter.  With just the somewhat crude factory iron sights, I was incapable of missing teaspoon spinners at 20 yds offhand.  That's about the size of a squirrel head.  If I still hunted in the woods, this would be my choice.  Light, compact, and handy as hell, easy to come to shoulder, and DEAD NUTS accurate.  What a mighty little gun!

Have you clocked it yet? Some target-group pics would be interesting.

Those old Crosmans are under rated by many. I might have to dust-off my old 180 and take it over the jumps again.

Detuned this one to avg 567 over 40 shots/ctg. w/ .22 Hobbies. These guns are really accurate (with preferred ammo) and a joy to tote along.
