I can't believe that RWS 94 has sat on the classifieds as long as it has.  These are good guns that used to have a cult following.  I remember one guy that shot a lot of incredible groups with his at 100 yards.  It was quite a feat for a springer.

If you are in the market for a budget springer, this would be one to consider.

I guess it is just me but I tend to overlook air guns made in Spain or China.  Never owned nor shot one but in my mind I place them in a category below the British and German guns.  I might be totally wrong.  In the 50's, 60's, 70's cheap things came from Japan today it is China.  When I look at the Drone market I see $30 drones and then $1,000 plus drones and both from China.  Is everything made in China cheap or do companies contract "cheap" in order to sell as inexpensive as possible.  Do I see airguns the same way?  GB has a BSA Metero Mark 7 starting at $150 with no bids?  I looked at it until I saw "made in Spain"  then I passed.   My knowledge about air guns is very limited and my bias might be totally unfounded.

I've seen that one sit for a while as well. And I've been tempted. They did have quite the reputation.

But the used spring gun market is flat. Nobody wants a decent shooter unless it has some collector value, like the FWB 300Ss, which for some strange reason are now trading in the $5-600 range. There are thousands of those things out there. Makes no sense.

Last time I was at Findlay, I had a pristine early El Gamo 440 with a full tune and a Macarri spring and seal, GTX two-stage adjustable trigger, 4x32AO scope in a one-piece BKL mount in a very pretty checkered beech stock on my table for $150. Hell, the scope and mount alone were worth $100. The gun sat there all day without any interest.

The advent of price-point PCPs has forever changed the demand curve for used spring piston rifles.

I have a beautiful Gamo 640 Carbine. It will shoot very good scores at 10 meters.

It will be one of the last guns i sell.

I have had two of the RWS94s and still have one, just about my favorite field springer of all. They are made by Cometa and should not be overlooked. I have dozens of other air rifles, mostly German, but I have always had a soft spot for this one.

For that price (lubed with extra springs!), this is very tempting, but I have run out of places to put the darned things.

Well,  I sent him a message as well.  Needed to know if he did take PayPal and a price to Nashville. TN.  I might just go ahead and purchase a Spanish made air rifle.  Who knows I might like it

You will like it if it's functional and you're a springer fan at all. For 150 bucks, I challenge you to match it. If it isn't just "so" then tighten stock screws and check crown, this is a decent little package. You will also have a little piece of Yellow Forum history, and if it doesn't work out, who knows, I might have a closet corner available by then.

The Cometa shouldn't be sprung up much beyond it's original design intent, IMO. They were allegedly soft springs but it's not a magnum in the modern sense, and it wouldn't make sense to make it into one. This gun was nearly perfect as designed, a high-mid range spring thing in the day. I always found the balance and weight ratio to be excellent and the design velocity was perfectly adequate for its purpose.

Someone found the Venn diagram of power, performance, and affordability on this one and I guess Mr. Kitchener was among the first to recognize this (at least in USA). And it is not a heavy or poorly made copy, it is its own thing.

What was the guys name that was doing to long distance shooting with his 94.  Was it Anthony?  I remember he was an ex military man and I remember that he passed away.

He was a former Marine and yes, he was the guy. Unfortunately some of the pics are gone, but the text lives on...

I shudder to think what my "group" would look like at 100 with any springer; maybe I should give it a try to relearn humility.

Looks like he is using a "Limb Saver" harmonic tuner near the muzzle.  If so, that might explain the results and also why we have not heard about accuracy from this springer.

It's cool that we remember this and still remember Anthony.
