"Godfather of Airguns" reviews Artemis PP700
Just found out:
The Godfather of Airguns, Tom Gaylord, is doing a multi-part review of the Artemis PP700 pistol.
12 FPE power, out of 15" gun, for $240. Thrilling!
Here's part 1 at the Airgun Academy site, fresh off the press:
The slow stabilization is a result of creep. What is happening is the pressure continues to rise very slowly until it finally plateaus after a few minutes. Some do it worse than others.
A deeper discussion and solution is presented here https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=150303
How dare you calling Tom Gaylord the godfather of airguns. Everyone knows larry durham is the real airgun god!
All I can say is that my Gen. I version acted even worst than his test unit. Like his test, I had to convince myself that there really was a regulator. But by about shot 200-250, it started acting like a real reg.
Might have been luck (after all, it's not like I'm going to buy a dozen of them to do a comparative test)..and I doubt a blogger (even if he is the godfather) is going to have the stick-to-it to just leave it alone and shoot it for 200-250 shots (can see where that would be a negative for a blogger..always flitting from one flower to the other to drum up readership).
But I can highly recommend staying away from a chronograph for at least one tin of pellets.
