I'm torn between the two, but definitely leaning toward the Impact X.  I like the look of the Vulcan and the integrated reservoir vs an ugly bottle, but the Impact seems to have everything else.  I'll mainly be doing plinking, 50-150 yards.  But I'd do a little hunting as well.  If money was not a factor, which would you recommend?

I have both and Impact by far is my favorite. Vulcan is a super nice gun but hands down the impact in my opinion is a better more versatile gun. But this is my opinion.

I have the Donny Fl Ronin . Both guns seems about the same. Really quiet. My impact is a .30 and .25. 30 is a little louder but still super quiet. Backyard friiendly for sure. But impact is quieter without the extra LDC installed on mine. All guns set to 860 to 880 FPE

Either gun in my opinion will do what you are wanting to do. The impact is ust more upgradeable and versatile. But at a price also

Surely you mean 860-880 muzzle velocity instead of FPE.

Nope,  I have the most powerful Impact in the world.  Of course I meant to say F.P.S.

I have both guns in .22 also. Both are great guns but I never use the Vulcan anymore since I got the Impact . The large magazine and air capacity are what I love.

I just signed up for the EBR in October. I didn't read the fine print and just found out the "Single gun challenge" can't be a larger caliber than a .22. I was going to change and then thought "I'll just put my .22 barrel on". The gun is quite versatile as it can be a .177, .22, 25 and a .30. I haven't bought a .177 barrel. I did buy a spare air tank and that was nice not to come back to the UTV for air. Another upgrade I quite like is the Utah Airguns high capacity magazines. Very nice! Top comes off to load and holds a lot of shots.

I have a .25 Cricket that I've always thought was close to a Vulcan. It has a Charlie Frear power tune and as much as I like that gun I'd still go with the Impact because it is such a transformer.

I have heard quite a bit if negative comments about the Impact but that was two to three years ago. Have all the reported problems been fixed? How can I tell if the Impact I am going to buy is problem free ?

I bought two of the originals so my son and I could shoot on a level playing field. Mine broke a probe grub screw that has since been updated and started an air leak if the pressure got low. We both sent our guns to Ernest Rowe for tunes and haven't had any further issues. So I guess if you are really concerned about what you are buying have Ernest go through it.

I sell both, (so I have 2 dogs equally in this fight).
Vulcan
Pros: More Compact, Also available in wood (I have some nice stock that amaze me for factory stocks)
Cons: Fixxed barrel length, and caliber.

Impact
Pros: Longer Barrel, Muiltiple calibers just by swapping barrels (easily done too). Available in .30 as well. More adjustable for "tunining"
Con: Longer LOA

I have DonnyD for both, so quietness is the same when so equipped.

I have a regular Wildcat and my nephew just got he new MkII. Very nice! I believe it's about 4 inches shorter than the regular Wildcat. Quiet, shouldered great. I was close to ordering one but it's pretty close to some other options I already own. Based on my brief experience with it I'd give it a thumbs up.

Compared to a Mutant Shorty.

Buy an Impact. The high cap 22 mags is awesome. But it comes tuned, Dont mess with the tuning dials, just leave it.
