PICS ADDED! FWB 300S RUNNING TARGET (RUNNING BOAR) ON ITS WAY!
It is my first Running Target/Running Boar model and have several regular 300s type 1 and type 2 universal and Jr models. It has been resealed and it looks like it has the type 1 trigger on it. It is not in pristine condition but a well used and shot and gun was originally purchased during the 80s.
I will post pictures when it arrives. Pretty anxious about this one.
Is there anything I need to be aware of with the Running Target (Running Boar)?
The Running Target action has a single-stage trigger, and no provision for open sights, otherwise same action as any other 300S. The OEM RT buttplate is smooth wood; it looks like someone has added a layer of rubber to that one maybe?
Great-looking rifle BTW! Will look forward to additional photos.
The trigger blade carrier is the basic difference between the two-stage trigger (to the right) and the RT single-stage “snap trigger” (left). The metal bar sticking out to the left on each one contacts the sear-release bar. The two-stage has a shorter bar (i.e., better leverage for a lighter pull) and two bumps on the bottom which contact the stage-adjustment screws. The single-stage has a longer bar (heavier pull) which reaches over the adjuster screws. It also takes an additional light spring which attaches to the hole in the tab on its lower right side. An ingenious design that can easily be converted back and forth.
