Hi, I am new to air rifles, I shoot some small bore (Anschutz 64) and High Power (AR-15). I bought a lightly used Anschutz 2001 and I need some help with it. I can "pump" the side lever and it holds air, but the trigger will not function, it has some play, but the rifle will not discharge. If I pump it again, it relieves the pressure and pumps air again. The action opens properly and the slide can be released by pulling it back. Is it possible that the slide is not going all the way into battery? If I set the safety before I pump the rifle and the put the safety to fire, the pressure is released like I pulled the trigger.

I also bought a Daisy 777 pistol, it does not always hold air. I imagine it needs grease on the o-rings.

Please send help 🙂

Thanks,

John

You can access the owner's manual and try to adjust the trigger settings. Google will get you to the manual. I own the 2002 model. Manual is clear.

Do you have it in dry fire mode?

the 777 might need as little as some Crosman Pellgunoil on the foam wiper but if the foam wiper has disintegrated  it will need to be taken apart and redone and it's not a hard job and Daisy will have the parts

the Anschutz is a whole different animal, lot of parts

here is the owner manual, english in the middle and there is a parts diagram also

and as stated above the trigger might need to be back off  to get it to fire

@welker

Hi, I read the manual and I do not think the 2001 had a dry fire mode. I think the the trigger is not adjusted correctly or it is dirty, because I have been able to discharge the rifle with the trigger a few times.

@marflow

Thanks for the link, it made my life easier. I read the manual, it looks like I have to take the gun out of the stock and work on the trigger.

Let us know how you like the airgun, and airguns in general.

Welcome to the site,
