Airgun silhouette in crime story?
Check out the image at the top of this story about a cartel hit man turned vigilante assassin...
It's a sad story about the miserable state of the narcocracy down south, but what caught my eye was the image at the top, with a silhouette of a sniper. It sure looks to me like the professional killer is pointing a break barrel air rifle, complete with muzzle brake, and I have to wonder which pellet is preferred for this line of work.
Most likely a stock image used to sell the story. But you're right, it does kinda look like a breakbarrel with a scope and a muzzle brake. I doubt airguns had anything to do with this story, and I'm pretty sure only an avid airgunner would notice that.
I think we're safe on this one. 🙂
Yes, being born in the USA is still pretty much winning the birth lotto, but I didn't want this thread to be about that.
It's just that the seriously deadly story header has this bad-a$$ silhouette of a dude, with what appears to my amateur eye to be a spring (or nitro) piston air rifle, I think. Kinda like James Bond brandishing the LP-53 in the movie posters, though at a lower profile.
If I was going to point this seriously awesome sniper thingie at mega-bad cartel members, I'd probably up the horsepower a bit, maybe to .177 Lapua or something?
