Hey all, been a while since I posted back on the yellow forum.

Does anyone know a US based supplier for the S410E hammer springs, besides PA? Part #S331H. I got one from Bori at Top Gun, years ago.

My fps has dropped again.

Thanks - Allen

well I looked at Air Arms to see what there price was and after converting pounds to dollars it is $11.01 so the price is sort of alright at PA

but it is impossible to think that spring is worth the cost but with that said I think you are stuck buy some pellets and the spring and what ever you might need and bite the bullet

also when you get you new spring measure it up and do some shopping, hell send me the measurements i'll look, just message me here

Good idea. Order some more pellets, too!

I have a tough time justifying spending more on shipping than the part is worth, sometimes.

Thanks!

I'm betting it can be had at a hardware store for $3?

Throw the measurements up on the forum and ask if anybody knows of a cheap source. Wire size, coil count and OL usually get you REAL close. For example, what if Crosman's Discovery spring was the same size for $3 + $5 to ship.

It kills me to see people pay $10 - 15 dollars for a $1 spring(if that). If I see someone posting about a part like that and I bought a bag of 10 I'll usually send one along for free.

in this case when or if a new spring does get installed in needs to be measure so if down the road it could be taken out and measure to see if the power drop is the spring

a spring like a hammer spring should last nearly forever

and I'm with you on over priced parts, if I can find another source I buy 10 if I need one, after awhile you have a panty full of parts that are at hand for this and that

so that spring you need for that 12.95+7.95 for shipping is a short 21 bucks-----ouch-----

easier to just shim in some preload ... power will come right back if it actually is a spring issue.

For anyone that may be curious in the future, the spring specs are:

  • Wire thickness = .06"
  • Coil diameter = .6"
  • OAL= 2.5"
