These are all tuned and customized R9's

Top: First is a .22 Cal. collaboration between J.Maccari and Venom.  Action was done at Venom and JM finished stock.  Pics are JM's.  Need to take some better pics but this is a amazing rifle.

Middle: This is a complete custom done by PW in .20 Cal.  So many visual details in the rifle and the action is outstanding.

Bottom: Another full custom done in JM's shop.  This one in .177 Cal.  It takes a highly skilled air rifle gunsmith to bring a gun to this level of performance.

Very nice trio of R9s you've got there. I like the look that fluted shroud gives the PW .20.

Did PW make the stock on the .20 or are those all JM stocks?

Hi Jim,  Thanks for the comments.  To answer your question, they are all JM stocks.

Thanks for the reply. I wondered if they might all be JM stocks. I remember reading something one time that said he sometimes used JM's stocks for his builds. But it also seems like I've read that he makes his own stocks on occasion, so I wasn't sure. But regardless of who made the stocks, that's a nice bunch of R9s. Enjoy!

You bet Jim.  I really appreciate your interest and comments. I've seen where Paul does his own stocks and has a duplicator.  In fact he has a vid on his site using said duplicator.  I have personally sent over to Paul a ARH stock for finish and fitting to a tuned action as well.

That was it! Soon as I read the words "duplicator" and "video" I remembered watching that video on his website. Thanks for the memory jog.

And wow, that's another nice piece of wood. You've definitely got some nice springer eye candy!

It's interesting to see a stock duplicator in use.  Wish Paul would do more videos of his work.

I kind of have a soft spot for massaged springers.

Here's another from Pauls shop. R1 style on display.

Mmm....more eye candy. I love a nice piece of tiger striped wood.

Lol...I think you should change the title of this thread to "A Sprinkle Of Springer Porn" and put up a drool warning!  😀

Verminstalker ,

some beautiful springers for sure.

So what’s the story on ARH custom stocks? I’ve looked through Jim’s gallery pics and see hundreds of nice blanks but rarely see stocks for sale on the ARH site. He has a few hunter grade stocks now but it seems this is even rare. Does Jim still make custom high grade stocks? Is it a custom order kind of a thing? From reading his site, it sounds like the stocks are 80-90% and you “finish” them?

I’ve made stocks myself but having a JM R9 custom lefty stock would be awesome.

Love your pics.

Shoot long enough and you’ll have a one hole group...

Hey T, I can't speak to how his stocks are sold.  What you see in the pictures are rare opportunities I've had over the years to acquire some of these examples.  Back when a person could order a complete custom, I was lucky to end up with the .177 Cal R9 pictured above.  I never hand picked any wood but Jim provided what I was looking for as in the example of the FWB rifle.

Thanks for sharing your work.  The TX looks great!
